Flirting with 40
Reuby and I decided to watch a movie together, cos it'd been a while since we'd done that... He picked a romantic comedy (KEEPER!) so we picked Flirting with 40. There were some funny scenes but it turned out to be more of a chick flick than a romantic comedy. But it doesn't matter... We both enjoyed it thoroughly.
It made us think, though, about our decision to get married. I felt so bad for the kids who had to be batted back and forth between their parents and we made a sort of pact. Sort of, because there was no spilling of blood, handshake, signing of documents and all that crap. But we agreed - if/when we get married, we're in it for life. No divorces allowed. For the kids.
But the movie had a happy ending... And it made me want to learn how to surf, despite not knowing how to swim. LOL. >.>
I'm totally looking forward to a vacation in Hawai'i. :D

sportWhat Is Digital TV?
Digital TV is a means of transmitting picture and sound to your TV set. It is done by converting the pictures and sound into computerized bits of information and compressing it, then transmitting it from as transmitter to your aerial. The signal is then converted back into pictures and sound by your TV using a decoder. Digital TV provides the potential for hundreds of channels and services via a TV. This is because the digital signal is compressed, meaning it takes up less space in the airwaves, unlike the analogue system.
At the old analogue system could only provide 5 channels, on digital you can potentially have access to hundreds of channels, as well as extras like a 7-day programmed guide and interactivity. The main benefit of Digital TV is the increase in picture quality; digital signals produce a much better picture and higher quality sound. Ghosting images and crackling pictures are a thing of the past, and the best bit is it¡¯s available to almost everyone. In order to... (more)
janeygodleyDon’t let me look back in anger
Things are happening in my life that keep making me look back, its not good news. Recently when I was in London it happened. I immediately recalled the first time I went to London to stay with my pal Finlay.
It was 1994; I was hardly doing any comedy and was running my pub at the time. Just the sheer excitement of being away from the pub, husband and my child made me giddy with happiness.
Soho looked like the most amazing place in the world; the big bright lights of Piccadilly dazzled me like the oik I was back then.
It was fantastic to be free from domesticity and just be me and just be with my pals. I recall looking in Time Out magazine and wondering how I could possibly contain my bursting exhilaration at the thought MY NAME one day might be in those listings as a comic at a club, it just made me foam at the mouth.
Years later when I wrote articles and was featured in Time Out, I giggled and had a wee heart warming feeling, recalling the Janey who thought that... (more)

Contra a IlusãoUm Meme Literário
Amigos,
(more)
